SEE ALSO...

GAK Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects GAK in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GAK, or cyclin G-associated kinase, plays a pivotal role in cell cycle regulation by interacting with cyclin G, which is crucial for proper cell cycle progression. GAK is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is involved in phosphorylating various substrates, influencing cellular processes such as growth and division. Notably, anti-GAK antibody (G-10) has shown GAK co-immunoprecipitates with cyclin G and Cdk5, highlighting GAK′s importance in regulating cyclin-dependent kinases. The interaction between GAK and cyclin G suggests a mechanism for modulating cyclin-dependent kinase activity, thereby impacting cell cycle transitions. Cyclin G expression is induced shortly after growth stimulation, indicating a role in responding to cellular signals, and continuous expression without clear cell cycle dependency suggests functions beyond cell cycle regulation. GAK monoclonal antibody (G-10) serves as an essential tool for studying cell cycle control dynamics and molecular interactions governing cellular proliferation.

Can GAK (G-10): sc-137066 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. Yes, GAK (G-10): sc-137066 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
