SEE ALSO...

eIF2C2 Antibody (4F9) is a mouse monoclonal IgA kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF2C2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-eIF2C2 antibody (4F9) is available as the non-conjugated format. Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2C (eIF2C) proteins, part of the argonaute family, play a crucial role in RNA interference (RNAi) as integral components of the RNA-inducible silencing complex (RISC) and microRNA (miRNA)-containing ribonucleoprotein particles (miRNPs). eIF2C2 protein, also known as Slicer or argonaute 2, localizes in cytoplasmic processing bodies (P-bodies), where eIF2C2 catalyzes mRNA cleavage. This function is vital for the regulation of gene expression, allowing for the degradation of target mRNAs, thereby influencing various cellular processes such as development, differentiation, and response to stress. The interaction of eIF2C2 with small RNAs, including small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and miRNAs, facilitates the silencing of target genes, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating gene expression in response to environmental cues. eIF2C2 works in concert with other eIF2C proteins, such as eIF2C1 (argonaute 1) and Dicer1, to ensure effective gene silencing through a coordinated mechanism.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor band visibility in WBThis antibody was used at 1:500 dilution. The bands obtained were not very clear (in visibility or number) even at high exposition times. You can still assess the general protein quantity on WB but I recommend maybe to dilute it less.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not suitable for WBWe wanted to detect Ago2 in our sample via WB. So unfurtunatley for our purpose this AB did not work. Nevertheless it is also mentioned in the describtion to use another AB for detection.
