Drebrin Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Drebrin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Drebrin antibody (B-6) specifically targets Drebrin, which plays a crucial role in the brain by binding to F-actin, thereby influencing cell migration, the extension of neuronal processes, and the plasticity of dendrites. Drebrin (B-6) antibody recognizes a protein essential for maintaining the structural integrity and functionality of synapses, which are vital for effective neuronal communication and cognitive processes. Drebrin is predominantly expressed in brain neurons, but can also be found in skeletal muscle, heart, placenta, pancreas, and kidney. Drebrin′s presence in dendritic spines makes this protein a significant marker for studying synaptic changes associated with neurodegenerative diseases. Alterations in Drebrin levels have been linked to conditions such as Alzheimer′s disease and Down syndrome, highlighting Drebrin′s potential as a biomarker for these disorders. The gene encoding Drebrin is located on chromosome 5, and understanding Drebrin expression and regulation can provide insights into the underlying mechanisms of various neurological conditions.
