ALCAM Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ALCAM plays a crucial role in immune responses by facilitating the adhesion of activated leukocytes, such as T cells, B cells, and monocytes, to other cells, which is essential for effective immune surveillance and response. ALCAM is primarily located on the surface of activated leukocytes, where anti-ALCAM antibody (H-9) can detect both homophilic interactions with other ALCAM molecules and heterophilic interactions with CD6, a type I membrane protein that enhances T cell adhesion and costimulation. The interaction between ALCAM and CD6 is particularly significant as ALCAM contributes to the formation of immunological synapses, which are critical for T cell activation and function. ALCAM (H-9) antibody enables researchers to gain insights into the mechanisms of immune cell interactions and their implications in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders and cancer.
