    SEE ALSO...

PRR5 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PRR5 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-PRR5 antibody (A-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PRR5, also known as Protein observed with Rictor-1 (Protor-1), is a 388 amino acid protein that serves as a crucial subunit of the mammalian target of rapamycin complex 2 (mTORC2), a multimeric kinase complex that plays a vital role in regulating the actin cytoskeleton and phosphorylating key proteins such as Akt1, serum/glucocorticoid-regulated kinase (SGK), and protein kinase C alpha (PKC α). PRR5′s importance lies in its involvement in the modulation of platelet-derived growth factor signaling and the regulation of PDGFR-β expression, which are critical for various cellular processes, including cell growth and survival. PRR5 is implicated in cancer biology, as the gene encoding PRR5 is located in a genomic region that frequently experiences loss of heterozygosity in breast cancer, suggesting a potential role as a tumor suppressor. PRR5 exists in four isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms within the cell.
