Datasheets
  • ICAD Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 199-226 near the C-terminus of ICAD of human origin
  • recommended for detection of ICAD and DFF-35 splice variant of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG1 BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for ICAD Antibody (D-6) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with ICAD Antibody (D-6) (see ordering information below).

ICAD Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ICAD in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ICAD, or Inhibitor of Caspase-Activated DNase, plays a crucial role in the regulation of apoptosis by forming a complex with CAD (Caspase-Activated DNase), thereby inhibiting CAD activity and preventing premature DNA fragmentation during the early stages of apoptosis. This interaction ensures DNA is only cleaved when the cell is fully committed to the apoptotic process, thus maintaining genomic integrity until the appropriate time. The cleavage of ICAD by caspases during apoptosis releases CAD, allowing CAD to translocate to the nucleus and induce DNA fragmentation, a hallmark of apoptosis. The precise regulation of this process is essential for normal cellular turnover and the prevention of diseases such as cancer, where dysregulation of apoptosis can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation. Anti-ICAD antibody (D-6) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of apoptosis and ICAD′s role in various biological contexts.
