GDNF Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a light chain antibody that detects glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GDNF plays a crucial role in the survival and maintenance of midbrain dopaminergic neurons, which are essential for motor control and are significantly affected in neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson′s disease. GDNF is primarily secreted and acts on neurons through GFRα1 receptor, initiating signaling pathways that promote neuronal survival and differentiation. GDNF′s structure as a glycosylated, disulfide-bonded homodimer, featuring seven conserved cysteine residues, is vital for stability and biological activity, allowing effective binding to receptors and activation of downstream signaling cascades.
