Fibrillarin Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects fibrillarin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Fibrillarin is a crucial nonhistone protein predominantly localized in the fibrillar region of the nucleolus, specifically within the dense fibrillar and fibrillar center regions, where fibrillarin plays a vital role in the processing of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) transcripts. This localization is significant as fibrillarin′s essential function in ribosome biogenesis is critical for protein synthesis in all living cells. Notably, fibrillarin contains an RNA-binding domain and an RNP consensus sequence, which facilitate fibrillarin′s interaction with U3 small nucleolar RNA, further emphasizing fibrillarin′s role in rRNA processing. Additionally, during the cell cycle, fibrillarin serves as an early marker for the formation of the nucleolus in telophase, highlighting fibrillarin′s dynamic involvement in cellular organization and function. Anti-fibrillarin antibody (F-6) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying nucleolar dynamics, rRNA processing, and related cellular processes.
