DMRT1 Antibody (SS6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects DMRT1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DMRT1, or Doublesex- and mab-3-related transcription factor 1, is a crucial 373 amino acid protein characterized by a highly conserved zinc finger-like DNA-binding motif known as the DM domain. Anti-DMRT1 antibody (SS6) recognizes a protein that plays a vital role in sexual development across vertebrates and invertebrates, with expression limited to the testis in humans, where DMRT1 is transported to the nucleus by karyopherin β1. DMRT1 is required for proper testis development and potentially involved in the formation of seminiferous tubules, which are essential for spermatogenesis. Notably, the gene encoding DMRT1 exhibits a gonad-specific and sexually dimorphic expression pattern during embryogenesis in mammals and birds, and hemizygosity of the DMRT1 gene can lead to abnormal testicular development and XY feminization. Additionally, DMRT1 is expressed as four isoforms due to alternative splicing, highlighting the complexity of regulation and function in sexual differentiation. DMRT1 (SS6) antibody serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of sexual development and related disorders.
