SEE ALSO...

CD3-ζ Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CD3-ζ protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD3-ζ (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD3-ζ protein plays a crucial role in T cell activation as part of the T cell receptor (TCR) complex, which is essential for the immune response. Located within the plasma membrane of T cells, CD3-ζ protein is integral to the signaling cascade that occurs upon TCR engagement with foreign antigens. This signaling is vital for the activation and proliferation of T cells, enabling them to mount an effective immune response against pathogens. The CD3 complex, which includes CD3-ζ protein, consists of multiple invariant polypeptide chains that form dimers, facilitating the transmission of activation signals through the cell membrane. Notably, CD3-ζ chain contains three immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs (ITAMs), which are critical for recruiting and activating downstream signaling molecules such as ZAP-70 and Syk, thereby amplifying the T cell activation signal. Understanding the function and importance of CD3-ζ protein is essential for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating immune responses in various diseases, including cancer and autoimmune disorders.
