    SEE ALSO...

α-internexin Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects alpha-internexin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). α-internexin Antibody (G-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Alpha-internexin is a brain-specific type IV intermediate filament protein that plays a crucial role in the structural integrity and function of neurons within the central nervous system. This axonal protein is predominantly located in the cytoplasm of neurons, where alpha-internexin contributes to the formation of a resilient filament network essential for maintaining neuronal shape and stability. The head domain of alpha-internexin is particularly important for self-assembly into this filamentous structure, which is vital for neuronal development and function. Notably, alpha-internexin expression levels peak during late embryogenesis and decline into adulthood, indicating a significant role in the regulatory processes that govern brain development. Furthermore, alpha-internexin promoter is activated by transcription factors Brn-3a and Brn-3c, while Brn-3b binding leads to repression, highlighting the complex regulatory mechanisms that control alpha-internexin expression during neuronal maturation.
