Ac-Histone H2B Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Ac-Histone H2B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ac-Histone H2B antibody (E-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ac-Histone H2B protein plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression through involvement in chromatin structure and dynamics. Specifically, acetylation of histones, including H2B, is a key post-translational modification that alters chromatin accessibility, thereby influencing binding of transcription factors and transcriptional machinery to DNA. This modification is essential for activating gene transcription, as acetylation reduces positive charge on histones, leading to a more relaxed chromatin structure that allows greater accessibility to DNA.
