ZDHHC1 Activators

The class of chemicals known as ZDHHC1 activators specifically aim to stimulate ZDHHC1, a protein involved in palmitoylation. These activators often target upstream signaling pathways, which eventually cascade down to ZDHHC1. For instance, Forskolin elevates intracellular cAMP levels, leading to the activation of PKA. Activated PKA can phosphorylate ZDHHC1, enhancing its enzymatic activity. Similarly, PMA directly activates PKC, which also phosphorylates and activates ZDHHC1.
