OR5D13 Activators

OR5D13 interact with the receptor in various ways to initiate a signal transduction pathway. Oleic Acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid, can serve as a ligand, binding to the receptor and causing a conformational change that activates OR5D13. Similarly, Citronellal, a monoterpenoid, and Eugenol, a phenylpropene, both bind to the ligand-binding domain of OR5D13, leading to receptor activation. Isoamyl Acetate, commonly known as banana oil, also activates OR5D13 by binding to its ligand-binding domain, while Benzaldehyde, an aromatic aldehyde, functions as a ligand to initiate the G protein-coupled response associated with almond scent detection. Geraniol and Menthol, both monoterpenoids, activate OR5D13 through ligand binding, causing a change in the receptor that results in the activation of associated G proteins and the start of olfactory signal transduction.

Anethole, an aromatic compound, activates OR5D13 by binding to its ligand-binding site, inducing a conformational change. Cinnamaldehyde interacts with OR5D13 in a similar fashion, activating the receptor and triggering a cascade of cellular events via the G protein signaling pathway. Linalool, a terpene alcohol, and Methyl Salicylate, an ester of salicylic acid, also activate OR5D13 through ligand-receptor binding, leading to signal transduction through olfactory pathways. Lastly, Hexanal, an aldehyde, binds to and activates OR5D13, inducing a conformational change and initiating the activation of G protein signaling pathways that contribute to the perception of its distinct scent. Each of these chemicals interacts with OR5D13 in a specific way, leading to the receptor's activation and the transmission of a unique olfactory signal

Oleic Acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid that is known to be a ligand for certain G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). OR5D13, being a member of the olfactory receptor family of GPCRs, can be activated by specific ligands such as fatty acids. The binding of Oleic Acid to OR5D13 leads to a conformational change in the receptor, initiating a G protein signaling cascade, resulting in the activation of OR5D13.
