Centaurin γ3 Activators

Centaurin γ3 activators are chemical compounds that enhance the functional activity of Centaurin γ3, a protein with GTPase activating protein (GAP) activity towards the ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) family of small GTPases. These activators work by influencing specific cellular processes and signaling pathways that Centaurin γ3 is directly involved in. U73122, a PLC inhibitor, can increase PI(4,5)P2 levels by preventing its breakdown to IP3 and DAG, thereby enhancing Centaurin γ3 activity. Clozapine, an atypical antipsychotic, also modulates cAMP levels, leading to enhanced Centaurin γ3 activity. Y-27632, a ROCK inhibitor, can enhance Centaurin γ3 function by modulating cytoskeleton dynamics, which can indirectly influence its GAP activity. Lastly, U0126, a MEK inhibitor, and Metformin, an AMPK activator, can modulate the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway and energy metabolism, respectively, leading to enhanced Centaurin γ3 activity.
