CaBP1 Activators

Calcium-binding protein 1 (CaBP1) is a member of the neuronal calcium sensor (NCS) family, which is characterized by its ability to bind calcium and influence various cellular processes. CaBP1, also known as caldendrin, is closely related to calmodulin, a well-known calcium-binding protein, and shares structural similarities with it, including EF-hand motifs that facilitate calcium binding.

Expressed predominantly in the brain, CaBP1 plays a significant role in the central nervous system's function. It is involved in modulating calcium signaling pathways that are essential for neuronal activity, synaptic plasticity, and long-term potentiation, all of which are critical for learning and memory.
