SEE ALSO...

TMEM38A Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TMEM38A of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TMEM38A antibody (G-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TMEM38A, also known as trimeric intracellular cation channel type A, is a 299 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular calcium signaling. TMEM38A forms a homotrimeric protein with a unique ion-conducting pore, where the second transmembrane domain crosses only half of the lipid bilayer and loops back into the cytosol, essential for function. This structural arrangement allows TMEM38A to act as a monovalent cation channel, facilitating rapid intracellular calcium release maintenance, vital for various cellular processes, including muscle contraction and neurotransmitter release. TMEM38A gene is located on human chromosome 19p13.11 and spans approximately 27,893 bases, highlighting evolutionary significance and potential implications in calcium-related disorders.
