Tectorigenin is an isoflavone and inducer of apoptosis in human HL-60 cells. Tectorigenin, classified as a flavonoid lipid molecule, is characterized by its limited solubility in water and overall neutral properties. It mainly resides in the cellular membrane (as deduced from logP values). Tectorigenin is involved in various enzymatic reactions. Additionally, it can undergo conversions to form tectoridin and 7-O-methyltectorigenin.
