Sulfiredoxin Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Sulfiredoxin in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sulfiredoxin, also known as Sulfiredoxin-1 or chromosome 20 open reading frame 139 (C20orf139), plays a crucial role as a cytoplasmic antioxidant protein, primarily involved in the reduction of oxidative modifications, which is vital for cellular signaling and protection against oxidative stress. Sulfiredoxin is essential for regulating peroxiredoxins (PRXs), a family of proteins that mitigate the effects of hydroperoxides by converting sulfinic acid back to sulfenic acid, thereby restoring their activity. Notably, anti-Sulfiredoxin antibody (B-4) specifically targets PRDX1, PRDX2, PRDX3, and PRDX4, while showing no interaction with PRDX5 or PRDX6, highlighting a selective regulatory role. Sulfiredoxin is widely expressed across various tissues, with the highest levels found in the lung, spleen, kidney, and thymus, indicating importance in maintaining redox homeostasis and cellular function in these organs. Sulfiredoxin monoclonal antibody (B-4) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying oxidative stress responses and related signaling pathways in human health and disease.
