SSH3 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SSH3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SSH3 (B-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SSH3, also known as Slingshot homolog 3 or SSH3L, is a 659 amino acid protein localized in both nucleus and cytoplasm, serving as a human homolog of the Drosophila slingshot (ssh) protein. SSH3 functions as a protein phosphatase, playing a crucial role in regulating actin filament dynamics through interaction with actin-depolymerizing factor (ADF) and Cofilin, which are key players in rapid depolymerization and disassembly of F-actin. The ADF/Cofilin family responds to various stimuli and can be inactivated by different kinases, making SSH3′s role in dephosphorylating these proteins vital for their reactivation and subsequent regulation of actin dynamics. SSH3 contains one tyrosine-protein phosphatase domain and is expressed as five isoforms due to alternative splicing, highlighting SSH3′s complexity and potential for diverse regulatory functions in cellular processes.
