Sec31A Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Sec31A of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Sec31A antibody (H-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sec31A, also known as ABP125, ABP130, or SEC31L1, is a 1,220 amino acid protein characterized by seven WD repeats, which are structural motifs that typically form a tertiary propeller configuration. These WD repeats are crucial for Sec31A′s role in the COP II (coat protein II) complex, where Sec31A is essential for forming transport vesicles from the endoplasmic reticulum and selecting cargo molecules for transport. Proper functioning of Sec31A maintains cellular homeostasis through vesicular trafficking, which is critical for transporting proteins and lipids within cells. Chromosomal aberrations involving Sec31A have been linked to inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors, indicating potential involvement in carcinogenesis. Multiple isoforms of Sec31A exist due to alternative splicing, highlighting regulatory potential in various cellular processes.
