Rtn-1C Antibody (RNL-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rtn-1C protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Rtn-1C, a member of the Reticulon family, plays a crucial role in the structure and function of the endoplasmic reticulum, where Rtn-1C is anchored through its C-terminal region. Rtn-1C protein is essential for maintaining the integrity of the endoplasmic reticulum and is involved in various cellular processes, including neuroendocrine secretion and membrane trafficking. The gene encoding Rtn-1 is located on human chromosome 14q23.1 and is expressed as three isoforms—Rtn-1A, Rtn-1B, and Rtn-1C—through alternative splicing. Notably, Rtn-1C expression is strongly associated with neuronal differentiation, making Rtn-1C a valuable marker in studies of neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, Rtn-1A has been identified as a reliable marker for neuroendocrine differentiation in lung cancer, particularly in small cell lung carcinoma and carcinoid tumors, highlighting the importance of Reticulon proteins in cancer diagnostics. Anti-Rtn-1C antibody (RNL-4) is an essential tool for researchers investigating the roles of Reticulon proteins in various biological contexts.
