Rho GDIα Antibody (4A6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Rho GDIα in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rho GDIα, also known as ARHGDIA or GDIA1, is a crucial 204 amino acid protein belonging to the Rho GDI family, primarily localized in the cytoplasm. Rho GDIα functions to inhibit the dissociation of guanosine diphosphate (GDP) from Rho proteins, which prevents the binding of guanosine triphosphate (GTP) and subsequent activation of these signaling molecules. This regulatory mechanism maintains proper cell signaling pathways that govern processes such as cell proliferation and cytoskeletal organization. Additionally, Rho GDIα can undergo post-translational modification through phosphorylation at Ser 101 by p21-activated kinase (αPAK), which inhibits Rho GDIα activity and may lead to positive feedback regulation of certain Rho GDIα target proteins. Rho GDIα′s ability to modulate Rho protein activity underscores Rho GDIα′s importance in cellular functions and highlights anti-Rho GDIα antibody (4A6)′s relevance in research focused on cell signaling and related disorders.
