PYK2 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PYK2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PYK2 (E-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PYK2, also known as proline-rich tyrosine kinase 2, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in the central nervous system where PYK2 is highly expressed. One of the key functions of PYK2 is involvement in the modulation of ion channel activity, which is essential for maintaining cellular excitability and neurotransmission. Upon activation, PYK2 undergoes rapid phosphorylation on tyrosine residues in response to increased intracellular calcium levels and stimulation by protein kinase C family members, such as phorbol esters.
