    SEE ALSO...

PHYH Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PHYH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-PHYH antibody (E-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PHYH protein, also known as phytanoyl-CoA 2-hydroxylase, RD, LN1, PAHX, or LNAP1, consists of 338 amino acids and is primarily localized in the peroxisome, where PHYH plays a crucial role in fatty acid metabolism. This enzyme is essential for the alpha-oxidation of 3-methyl branched fatty acids, catalyzing the conversion of phytanoyl-CoA to 2-hydroxyphytanoyl-CoA using iron and ascorbate as cofactors. Proper functioning of PHYH is vital, as defects in the gene encoding PHYH are linked to Refsum disease, an autosomal recessive disorder that manifests with a range of symptoms including retinitis pigmentosa, peripheral neuropathy, cerebellar ataxia, nerve deafness, anosmia, skeletal abnormalities, ichthyosis, cataracts, and cardiac impairment, typically emerging in the second or third decade of life. PHYH monoclonal antibody (E-8) in multiple formats enhances research applications, making PHYH (E-8) antibody an invaluable tool for studying PHYH implications in health and disease.
