Nestin Antibody (2C1.3A11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects nestin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Nestin is a crucial intermediate filament protein predominantly expressed in embryonic central nervous system progenitor cells, where nestin plays a vital role in maintaining structural integrity and function during development. Nestin′s dynamic presence in the intermediate filament network is particularly important during muscle development, as nestin (2C1.3A11) antibody reveals polymerization with Desmin and Vimentin to form a robust cytoskeletal framework. Anti-nestin antibody (2C1.3A11) demonstrates co-assembly with Vimentin or α-internexin into heterodimer coiled-coil structures, allowing for the formation of 10 nm intermediate filaments essential for cellular resilience. Notably, alterations in the rod domain of nestin can disrupt localization in central nervous system precursor cells and radial glial cells, underscoring significance in neurodevelopment. Nestin serves as a marker for neuroepithelial stem cells, glioma cells, and tumor endothelial cells during periods of rapid growth, highlighting potential as a target for cancer research. During neuron differentiation, nestin monoclonal antibody (2C1.3A11) localizes to growth cones, suggesting a role in guiding axon elongation, which is critical for proper neural network formation. Nestin expression is observed in the rat adrenal gland, specifically in the zona fasciculata and zona reticularis, as well as in dermatomal cells and myoblasts during early stages of myogenesis, indicating diverse roles across various tissues and developmental stages.
