N-Decylaminoethanol is used in the antileishmanial activity of lipidic amino alcohols. Leishmania are parasitic protozoans transmitted via sandflies which can cause ulcerative skin diseases in vertebrates. The lipidic amino alcohols interact with the membrane lipids of the parasite.
