Mucin 1 Antibody (M2F1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG antibody that detects Mucin 1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Mucin 1 plays a crucial role in cell signaling and adhesion, acting as a protective barrier on epithelial surfaces and contributing to the maintenance of tissue integrity. Mucin 1 (M2F1) antibody has proven particularly valuable in studying aberrant expression in epithelial tumors, including breast carcinomas, where Mucin 1 can influence tumor progression and metastasis. Mucin 1 is primarily localized to the apical surface of epithelial cells, where Mucin 1 forms a gel-like layer that traps pathogens and particulates, thereby playing a vital role in immune defense.
