Mfn2/Mitofusin 2抗体（XX-1）是一种IgG2a κ小鼠单克隆Mfn2抗体（也称为Mitofusin-2抗体），可通过WB、IP、IF、IHC(P)和ELISA检测到小鼠、大鼠和人类来源的Mitofusin 2。Mfn2/Mitofusin 2抗体（XX-1）为非偶联形式的抗Mfn2抗体。Mitofusin 1（Mfn1）和mitofusin 2（Mfn2）是果蝇蛋白fuzzy onion（Fzo）的同源物。它们是线粒体膜蛋白，是线粒体融合的媒介。Mfn蛋白的功能需要GTPase结构域，但GTPase依赖性反应的分子机制以及两种Mfn蛋白的功能划分尚不清楚。它们对于胚胎发育至关重要，并可能在肥胖症的病理生物学中发挥作用。尽管Mfn1和Mfn2基因广泛表达，但它们在不同组织中的表达水平不同。两种Mfn1转录本在心脏中升高，而Mfn2 mRNA在心脏和肌肉组织中丰富表达，但在许多其他组织中表达水平较低。Mfn1定位于线粒体，并以GTP依赖的方式参与至少两种不同的高分子量蛋白质复合物。纯化的重组Mfn1表现出的GTPase活性约为Mfn2的八倍。

We buy the antibody Mfn2 (XX-1): sc-100560. on the datasheet its mention: 'is a mouse monoclonal antibody raised against a C-terminus partial recombinant Mfn2 of human origin'. question: for which amino acid is it bind?

Thank you for question. No epitope mapping has been performed for this particular antibody, so its exact binding site is not known. We do not have more specific information that that it binds to C-terminus.

We bought this antibody a long time ago and the band we obtained is 50KDa. How can we explain this? The expected size and the images you show present a band at 86kDa.

Thank you for your question. Mitofusin 2 protein has a truncated alternate splice variant, that can be detected by the antibody, but maps at a lower molecular weight than the protein's canonical form. I got only a strong band in 50-60 kDa in mouse brain, it can be the Mfn2 band?
