LMP7 Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LMP7 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LMP7 Antibody (D-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LMP7 plays a crucial role in the immune response as a component of the proteasome, a multi-catalytic proteinase complex located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells. This complex is essential for the degradation of ubiquitinated proteins, thereby regulating various cellular processes, including the presentation of antigens to cytotoxic T cells. LMP7, along with LMP2, is involved in the replacement of standard proteasome subunits with immunoproteasome subunits upon stimulation with interferon-gamma, enhancing the generation of peptides that are presented by MHC class I molecules. This process is vital for the activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes, which are crucial for the adaptive immune response. LMP7 is expressed in two forms, LMP7A and LMP7B, which are produced as precursor proteins that undergo processing to form active subunits capable of integrating into the proteasome. The ability of LMP7 to modulate the proteasome′s function highlights its importance in immune surveillance and response, making anti-LMP7 antibody (D-2) a valuable tool for studying immune-related processes in various research applications.
