I am using HDAC2 (C-8): sc-9959 to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless antibodyI wasted quite a lot of time and experiments using this antibody for ICC for my paper revision, and it didn't work at all (I increased the concentration to even 1:10 dilution). I contacted the technical support asking for a change of antibody or alternative ones, and they are also not helpful at all. Meanwhile, I even followed the 'Santa Cruz IHC/ICC protocol' and used Acetone to fix the cultured the cells according the protocol instead of using the standard PFA fixation, and it totally destroyed my samples. I have ordered a few antibodies from Santa Cruz due to the cheaper price, but none of them worked out well. Enough is enough. No more antibodies from SC.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this antibody performed really poorlyUsing human blood monocyte derived macrophages, 25 ug total cell lysate ran on midi gels, 1:500 dilution in milk, 1:4000 2nd Ab CST anti-mouse we could barely detect some weak band using ultra ECL and long exposure. But there is a chance this antibody might perform better with nuclear extracts.
