GABAA Rβ3 Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GABAA R beta 3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GABAA Rβ3 monoclonal antibody (D-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GABAA R beta 3 protein plays a crucial role in the central nervous system as a component of the GABAA receptor, which is essential for mediating inhibitory neurotransmission. GABAA R beta 3 is primarily located in the postsynaptic membrane of neurons, where binding with gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) facilitates chloride ion influx, leading to neuron hyperpolarization and decreased excitability. Proper functioning of GABAA receptors, including GABAA R beta 3 subunit, is vital for maintaining the balance between excitation and inhibition in the brain, which is critical for various physiological processes such as anxiety regulation, muscle relaxation, and seizure prevention. Dysregulation of GABAA receptor function has been implicated in several neurological disorders, making anti-GABAA Rβ3 antibody (D-12) an important tool for research into these conditions.
