EF-1 δ Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects EF-1 δ in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EF-1 δ, also known as EEF1D, is a crucial 281 amino acid subunit of the elongation factor-1 complex, which is essential for the accurate delivery of aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome, thereby facilitating the elongation of mRNA during protein synthesis. EF-1 δ functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor, promoting the exchange of guanosine diphosphate (GDP) for guanosine triphosphate (GTP) on EF-1 α, which is vital for maintaining the efficiency of translation. Notably, EF-1 δ has been implicated in interactions with HIV-1 Tat, suggesting a role in the repression of host-cell mRNA transcription, which can have significant implications for viral pathogenesis. Furthermore, EF-1 δ overexpression has been linked to oesophageal carcinoma and may negatively influence the prognosis of medulloblastomas, highlighting its importance in the regulation of the cell cycle and transcriptional elongation. Multiple isoforms of EF-1 δ, resulting from alternative splicing events, add another layer of complexity to its functional roles in cellular processes. Anti-EF-1 δ antibody (G-7) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the intricate mechanisms of protein synthesis and the pathological implications of EF-1 δ dysregulation.
