SEE ALSO...

Cylindromatosis 1 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects cylindromatosis 1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cylindromatosis 1 antibody (E-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cylindromatosis 1, encoded by the CYLD gene located on chromosome 16q12.1, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways by acting as a deubiquitinating enzyme, essential for regulating protein degradation and maintaining cellular homeostasis. This function helps prevent misfolded protein accumulation and modulates signaling molecule activity, influencing cell proliferation and apoptosis. CYLD gene mutations can lead to familial cylindromatosis, characterized by multiple benign skin tumors called cylindromas, which may become infected and cause significant disfigurement and discomfort. Cylindromatosis 1 expression occurs in various tissues, including brain, gonads, skeletal muscle, spleen, liver, heart, lung, and leukocytes, highlighting widespread biological functions. Somatic CYLD gene mutations have been implicated in tumor oncogenesis with cylindromatous features, making cylindromatosis 1 research vital for understanding cancer biology.
