BAPTA-APM [5-(3-Aminopropyl)-5′-methyl-bis-(2-aminophenoxy-methylene)-N,N,N′,N′-tetraacetate, tetrapotassium salt] is a fluorescent chelating indicator used to study cytosolic free calcium. Fluorescent calcium indicators selectively bind to calcium ions and show a spectral response upon binding Ca2+; thus, fluorescence intensity or wavelength are altered. This shift of fluorescence wavelength and change of intensity upon calcium chelation can be monitored using fluorescence microscopy. Additional BAPTA chelators available: BAPTA, Free Acid (sc-201508) BAPTA tetrapotassium salt (sc-202076) BAPTA/AM (sc-202488) BAPTA-TMFM (sc-212043) 5,5i difluoro Bapta(AM) (sc-217247) 5,5i difluoro Bapta(K+ Salt) (sc-217248) Bapta-FF (AM) (sc-217696) BAPTA, Tetrasodium Salt (sc-278716)
