QUICK LINKS

Kahweol acetate is an inducer of glutathione S-transferase. Kahweol acetate is a diterpene (a type of hydrocarbon) molecule found in the beans of Coffea arabica. It is structurally similar to cafestol. Unlike cafestol, also a diterpene from coffee, kahweol is somewhat difficult to isolate chemically, and therefore studies on it have been difficult to perform. The two are actually chemically quite similar, but their differences may be important.
