QUICK LINKS

Sodium laurate is a naturally occurring fatty acid present in vegetable oils and animal fats. This white, waxy solid possesses a slight odor and a bitter taste. Although the precise mechanism of action of sodium laurate remains incompletely understood, it is hypothesized to disrupt the cell membrane of target organisms, thereby interfering with normal cellular functions and impeding their growth and reproduction. Furthermore, sodium laurate has been found to inhibit the production of specific enzymes.
