Miltirone is a synthetic compound derived from the naturally occurring hormone melatonin. It is a potent agonist of the melatonin receptor MT1, and has been used in laboratory experiments to study the effects of melatonin. Miltirone has been utilized in a variety of studies, including those related to circadian rhythms, sleep, fertility, and the immune system. It has also been used to study the effects of melatonin on the development of cancer, as well as its role in the regulation of metabolism. Specifically, it has been found to have an effect on the regulation of glucose and lipid metabolism.
