Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Salt (HA), from Streptococcus sp is a natural high-viscosity mucopolysaccharide with alternating beta1,3-glucuronidic and beta1,4-glucosaminidic bonds. Principal glycosaminoglycan in connective tissue fluids. The molecular weight of Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Salt is in the range of 5.0 x 105 - 1.2 x 106, as calculated from its limiting viscosity. Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Salt is an anionic linear glycosaminoglycan composed of monomers of glurcuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine. It is widely distributed throughout connective and epithelial tissue and is a chief component of the extracellular matrix. Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Salt contributes to cellular proliferation and may contribute to the progression of malignant tumors.
