Glycitin, a synthetic glycoside derived from glucose through a glycosidic bond, is a soy isoflavone present in its glucoside form. Notably, a study conducted on a rat model demonstrated the effectiveness of glycitin in preventing bone loss and reversing unfavorable changes in lipid metabolism observed in the model. The presence of glycosidic bonds in glycitin is implicated in the binding of molecules to receptors, potentially accounting for some of the biological effects attributed to this compound. Furthermore, glycosidic bonds are believed to play a role in regulating cellular processes such as gene expression and cell division.
