Formononetin is a phytoestrogenic isoflavone found in soy-based foods. Displays potent antioxidant properties and acts as a selective inhibitor of the g-isoform of alcohol dehydrogenase. Formononetin has been shown to interact with human estrogen receptors with low potency. Formononetin also induces mammary gland proliferation in mice.
