Diisopropyl adipate is a fatty acid ester with extensive applications in the chemical industry. It serves as a plasticizer in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and various other polymers. When incorporated into PVC, it effectively lowers the glass transition temperature and enhances the polymer′s flexibility. This results in a more malleable polymer, reducing the likelihood of cracking or breaking. Additionally, Diisopropyl adipate functions as a surfactant, reducing the surface tension of liquids and facilitating their even spreading.
