Carveol is a mixture of isomers. A terpene that inhibits mammary carcinogenesis. It is a sesquiterpene lactone and has shown to be a strpng fluorescence probe for the detection of DNA. A naturally unsaturated monocyclic monoterpenoid alchohol that is a component of spearmint essential oil. Used as a fragrance in cosmetics.
