QUICK LINKS

Caffeic acid phenethyl ester is a constituent of the propolis of honeybee hives and may act to contain inhibitory effects on induced papilloma promotion in mice. Caffeic acid phenethyl ester acts as an anti-proliferative agent in over-productive cell growth. Caffeic acid phenethyl ester can cause DNA fragmentation and apoptosis which can have toxic results towards cloned rat embryo fibroblast (CREF) cells. CREF cells depleted of cellular glutathione (GSH) seemed to be more sensitive to Caffeic acid phenethyl ester-induced cell death. Caffeic acid phenethyl ester has been reported to have anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties. Caffeic acid phenethyl ester inhibits HIV-1 integrase. The anti-inflammatory characteristics have been thought to be due to suppression of the lipoxygenase pathway of arachidonic acid metabolism by Caffeic acid phenethyl ester. Caffeic acid phenethyl ester to be a specific and potent inhibitor of activation of nuclear transcription factor NF kappa B, which is a protein complex that controls the transcription of DNA.

How do you dissolve it and inject it into mice

Asked by: XUE Z S
Thank you for your question. This product is soluble in DMSO (10 mg/ml), ethanol (100 mM), ethyl acetate (50 mg/ml), methanol, acetone, and acetonitrile. Insoluble in water. Unfortunately we do not have any information on delivering it into mice as that is not a use we support. Please contact Technical Service if you have any further questions or need additional information.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KimKim, HG. et al. (PubMed 26296470) found that Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE) induced hypoxia inducible factor-1 (HIF-1 ) protein level and HIF-1 responsible element (HRE) transcriptional activity. CAPE-mediated HIF-1 reduced 3-MC-inducible CYP1A1 protein expression. -SCBT Publication Review
