1,1,1,2,3,4,4,5,5,5-Decafluoropentane is a hydrofluorocarbon fluid that is used commercially in vapor degreasing equipment for cleaning, rinsing and drying, as well as in particulate and ionic removal and as an insulating fluid in high-voltage dielectrics. 1,1,1,2,3,4,4,5,5,5-Decafluoropentane has zero ozone-depletion potential and thus is used extensively as a replacement for CFC-113, methyl chloroform, hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and perfluorocarbons (PFCs) in such applications as refrigeration and air-conditioning, blowing agents for foams, and solvents, degreasing agents and cleaning agents.
