WRP Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects WRP in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-WRP antibody (B-3) recognizes WRP, a 1099 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of one FCH domain, one Rho-GAP domain, and one SH3 domain, which is predominantly expressed in the brain and to a lesser extent in the kidney. WRP (B-3) antibody plays a crucial role in studying WRP′s regulation of cell migration through interactions with key signaling proteins Cdc42 and Rac1, which are essential for the dynamic processes of actin and microtubule rearrangement. By downregulating the activity of Cdc42 and Rac1, WRP impairs the formation of cellular protrusions and overall cell motility, highlighting its importance in developmental processes and potential implications in neurodevelopmental disorders. Notably, defects in the gene encoding WRP have been associated with severe idiopathic mental retardation, underscoring the significance of this protein in cognitive function. Additionally, WRP exists in three isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to its diverse functional roles in various cellular contexts.
