Survivin Antibody (2H5H2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects survivin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Survivin plays a crucial role in regulating cell division and inhibiting apoptosis, making survivin a significant factor in cancer biology, as survivin overexpression is often associated with tumor progression and resistance to chemotherapy. Survivin is primarily located in the cytoplasm and nucleus of dividing cells, where survivin interacts with components of the mitotic spindle, thereby ensuring proper chromosome segregation during cell division. Survivin presence in these cellular compartments is vital for maintaining the balance between cell proliferation and programmed cell death, which is essential for normal tissue homeostasis. Additionally, survivin expression is tightly regulated throughout the cell cycle, with peak levels observed during the G2/M phase, highlighting survivin′s importance in cell cycle progression. Anti-survivin antibody (2H5H2) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of cancer and apoptosis, providing insights into potential therapeutic targets for cancer treatment.

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using survivin (2H5H2): sc-101433?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane. A link to our complete Western blotting protocol is provided here for your reference: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anisul from Survivin anti-mouse antibodyMy experience about this is OK type. I had hard time getting bands which may be because i have low expression of survivin in my cells.
