Nucleostemin Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Nucleostemin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Nucleostemin antibody (E-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nucleostemin, also known as Nucleolar GTP-binding protein 3, plays a crucial role in regulating cell proliferation, particularly in stem cells. Nucleostemin is predominantly located in the nucleoli of adult central nervous system stem cells, primitive bone marrow cells, and embryonic stem cells, as well as in various cancer cell lines. Nucleostemin′s nucleolar localization suggests a specialized function in ribosome biogenesis and cellular growth regulation, vital for maintaining stem cell self-renewal and differentiation potential. Nucleostemin′s shuttling between nucleus and nucleolus indicates involvement in critical cellular processes, including response to cellular stress and regulation of cell cycle progression. Dysregulation of Nucleostemin expression has been linked to various cancers, including liver and gastric cancer, highlighting potential as a therapeutic target and biomarker for cancer progression. Nucleostemin gene is located on chromosome 3p21.1, emphasizing importance in cellular function and disease.

Could you please provide the control tissue for IHC-P for sc-166460

Asked by: Tamal
Thank you for your question. We currently do not offer a control tissue suitable for this antibody as a product. The protein shows increased expression levels in urinary bladder and cancerogenic lung tissue.

Can Nucleostemin (E-8): sc-166460 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, Nucleostemin (E-8): sc-166460 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
