HSV-2 gG Envelope Protein Antibody (3D4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HSV-2 gG Envelope Protein of Herpes Simplex Virus 2 origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-HSV-2 gG Envelope Protein antibody (3D4) is available as the non-conjugated format. HSV-2 gG Envelope Protein plays a crucial role in viral immune evasion, participating in host cell entry and latency establishment. HSV-2 gG Envelope Protein is located on the viral surface and mediates essential interactions with host cell receptors during infection. Glycoprotein G (gG) undergoes cleavage into a secreted amino-terminal portion and a heavily O-glycosylated carboxy-terminal portion, forming mature gG-2. Mature gG-2 functions as a type-specific antigen, making HSV-2 gG Envelope Protein a valuable target for HSV-2 infection serodiagnosis. Understanding HSV-2 gG Envelope Protein′s function and significance contributes to developing effective diagnostic tools and therapeutic strategies against herpes simplex virus infections.
