Datasheets
  • CEL Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 439-475 within an internal region of CEL of human origin
  • recommended for detection of CEL long isoform of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and equine and canine
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG1 BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for CEL Antibody (D-1) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with CEL Antibody (D-1) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

CEL Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects carboxyl ester lipase (CEL) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CEL plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, particularly in the hydrolysis of cholesteryl esters, phospholipids, and acylglycerols, which are essential for maintaining cellular lipid homeostasis and energy balance. The enzyme′s active site features a catalytic triad composed of serine, histidine, and aspartate, which is vital for enzymatic activity. CEL is predominantly produced in the pancreas and lactating mammary gland, but can also be found in the liver, macrophages, and vascular walls, highlighting CEL′s importance in various physiological processes. CEL (D-1) antibody enables researchers to study CEL′s involvement in the assembly and secretion of chylomicrons, a key step in lipid transport, facilitated by CEL′s ability to hydrolyze ceramide. The diverse substrate reactivity of CEL suggests multiple functions in lipid and lipoprotein metabolism, as well as in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, making anti-CEL antibody (D-1) an invaluable tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.
